Family mediation helps all sorts of people: married, unmarried and co-habiting couples/partnerships; same sex relationships; parents; grandparents; step-parents and young people can all take part including involvement by the wider family if desired.
Normally the mediation process involves just a couple and the mediator. However, mediation can involve members of a family other than a couple and even former or future partners may be involved. Mediation is highly confidential but occasionally one or other of the couple feel more supported if another family member or a friend is involved in a session, but this can only happen if both of the couple agree to this.
